Pioneer Communications' Commitment During COVID-19

On Thursday, March 19th, Pioneer Communications released the following message to the public:

To our Members and Customers,

In the coming weeks, many in western Kansas will be affected either directly or indirectly be COVID-19. Pioneer Communications is committed and focused on serving and supporting our communities and our 20,000 customers in western Kansas.

To ease the strain in the challenging time, beginning Thursday, March 19, Pioneer Communications commits to the following through May 31, 2020

• Pioneer will offer free internet and WiFi access intended for enabling online learning through May 31, 2020, to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Pioneer Communications internet subscription.
• Pioneer will increase our 10 Mbps internet tier to 20Mbps and 25Mbps where available.
• Pioneer will open as many WiFi hotspots as possible across our footprint for free public use.
• Pioneer will waive any late fees that customers incur because of their economic circumstances related to the coronavirus pandemic when notified by customer.
• Pioneer will not terminate service to customers because of their inability to pay their bills due to disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic when notified by customer. 

As the country works collaboratively to contain this pandemic, broadband internet access will be increasingly essential to ensuring that people across the country are able to learn and work remotely, that businesses can continue to serve customers, and that Americans stay connected and engages withe family and friends.

The Pioneer Communications network will ensure our more than 20,00 customers - including government offices, first responders, health care facilities, and businesses across western Kansas maintain the connectivity they rely on. Pioneer will continue to closely monitor this dynamic situation, and is well-prepared to continue delivering reliable connectivity.
