Help us in congratulating 23 outstanding UHS Freshmen who scored high enough on their PreACT exam to earn national recognition! The PreACT is an important exam that provides students and families an accurate prediction for how a student will score on the ACT exam and helps inform our instruction at UHS. UHS had one student score in the top 3% of the nation and earn the Distinguished Scholar Award, one student score in the top 10% in the nation earning the Rising Scholar Award, and 22 students finish in the top 50% of the nation earning the Early Scholars Award! Change to tonight's basketball schedule: Holcomb will travel in vehicles and will bring varsity only, so there will be no sub-varsity games tonight. We will start with varsity girls at 6:00, still have Senior recognition in between, followed by varsity boys.
The basketball games tonight in Ulysses v. Holcomb WILL be played, as Holcomb has made the decision that they will travel.
Main gym: JV boys at 4:30, followed by varsity girls, Senior Recognition ceremony of wrestling, basketball, and concert choir, then varsity boys.
Aux gym: C team boys (after JV boys), then 2 quarters of JV girls (after varsity girls).

All scheduled UHS athletics scheduled for Th-Fri-Sat this week are still a go. (basketball tournament at Colby, wrestling at Hays, & wrestling at Cimarron) Travel plans have been modified as deemed necessary and as of now, we are planning to have our teams stay in Colby and stay in Hays on both Friday and Saturday night, and will plan to travel home on Sunday, as roads permit.
Updates will be posted as necessary.
The Forensics meet scheduled for Saturday, 1/24, at UHS, has been cancelled due to the forecasted weather conditions.
Unfortunately, due to the forecasted dangerous winds today, the UHS athletic events scheduled for today are cancelled. We are not making the trip to Hays for JV wrestling and the basketball games at Holcomb will be played tomorrow (Saturday, 1/17). The games in Holcomb will be varsity games only, starting with the girls at 6:00.
The C-team tournament tomorrow in Ulysses will be played as scheduled.
The basketball games in Goodland originally scheduled for Friday, January 9th, will be played on Monday, January 19th at the normally scheduled times.
Update on basketball in Goodland: Due to poor road conditions and extreme temperatures, we will NOT travel to Goodland today. A make up date for the games will be determined on Monday and we'll let everyone know when the games will be played. Stay safe out there.
Due to the serious nature of the snow and poor road conditions in the area, the UHS wrestling events scheduled for tomorrow, Sat 1/10, (Boys in Lamar, Girls in Dodge) will NOT be attended.
An update on wrestling scheduled for tomorrow in Lamar and in Dodge City will be posted later this afternoon.
The UHS basketball games scheduled for today at Goodland will be played tomorrow, 1/10. The varsity girls will start at 5:30 CST with the two varsity games played in Max Jones Field House. The JV boys will play at 5:30 in the Auxiliary gym followed by a half game of JV girls. There will be no C-team boys game. The coaches will be communicating with players in regard to the bus leave time and who will be traveling.
