Opaa! Food Management is proud to have been awarded the contract to manage the child nutrition program at the Ulysses, KS school district. Opaa! is a family owned company that has been serving the nutritional needs of children in Missouri since 1978. We currently manage the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs at over 500 separate locations throughout the Midwest, serving nearly 30 million meals each year.
The existing cooks and kitchen staff at the Ulysses school district will now be supported by our team of certified specialists in Wellness and Nutrition, our professional Operations Team, and 40 years of experience operating the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. Your children will be able to choose from a variety of home style lunch and breakfast entrees. We incorporate locally grown fruits and vegetable into our meals, and our rolls and baked goods are made from scratch using healthy whole grains. Every Opaa! recipe and menu is carefully designed to meet the requirements of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act and the HealthierUS School Challenge.
Opaa!’s vision is to become an indispensable partner with the Ulysses school district, and we plan to achieve this by focusing on three main goals:
Improve the quality, freshness, and variety of offerings so that more children will eat a healthy school lunch and breakfast. By serving each meal with a smile, we hope to make mealtime the highlight of your child’s school day.
Implement and manage a financially sustainable nutrition program for the school district.
Ensure that the district’s food service program is fully compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations.
